Joe “in it to win it” Bennett will be a senior at Kansas State University this coming Fall, majoring in Computer Science with an emphasis in Software Engineering. Joe’s experience with software development dates back to the 11th grade where he failed miserably in a semester long Visual Basic Programming course. Since then, he has learned from his mistakes and worked hard to be successful.
Joe’s working career as a programmer began with KState’s Housing and Dining department where he was able to hone his skills in the creation of PHPbased web applications. After a year of being a fulltime student and parttime developer, he earned his first summer internship as a Software Engineer with Henderson Engineers Inc. While attending school he is a JNT Web Developer Intern. This summer, however, he is interning as a Software Engineer in Seattle at Amazon.com’s corporate headquarters.
In his words, “Being a part of the JNT has done more for me than any other company in the past. I have the ability to own my work and architect the software that I am creating. The position of Software Architect is usually something only seasoned veterans are enabled to do.”
Joe was born in Colorado and has lived in many places across the country including Tennessee, Hawaii, New York, and Kansas. He is a former National Guard Medic, EMT Certified, and a onetime optimist. In his free time, he enjoys riding motorcycles, learning about human psychology, listening to music, and maintaining a strong bond with his family and friends
